Percentage & CGPA Calculator 2026

Calculate marks-to-percentage, CGPA to percentage, and SGPA to CGPA aggregate. Supports CBSE, VTU, and custom university formulas. Add multiple subjects or semesters for cumulative calculation.

Enter marks obtained and total marks for each subject. Add more rows as needed.

How Each Tab Works

Marks → %: aggregate percentage across multiple subjects. Add a row for each subject, enter marks obtained and total marks, click Calculate. CGPA → %: single CGPA value converted via your board's formula — CBSE, VTU, direct, or your own custom multiplier. SGPA → CGPA: aggregate CGPA across semesters using credit-weighted averaging.

Common Conversion Formulas

CBSE Class X / XII: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. So 9.0 CGPA = 85.5%, 8.4 CGPA = 79.8%. VTU (Karnataka): Percentage = CGPA × 7.1 + 11. Anna University: Percentage = (CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Direct method: Percentage = CGPA × 10 (used by some universities). Always confirm the formula on your marks sheet — it's printed at the bottom.

Minimum Percentage for Government Jobs

Eligibility varies by post: SSC CGL and most SSC posts need only a degree (no minimum %). Banking PO (IBPS / SBI) usually requires 60% in graduation. UPSC Civil Services needs only a degree. Teaching jobs (TGT/PGT) require 50% in Master's plus B.Ed. SC/ST/OBC candidates get 5% relaxation. Use the Age Calculator to check age eligibility alongside marks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate percentage from marks?
Percentage = (marks obtained ÷ total marks) × 100. For multiple subjects, add all obtained marks, divide by the sum of all total marks, then multiply by 100. This tool handles multiple subjects automatically — just add each one.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
The formula depends on your board/university. CBSE: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. VTU: Percentage = (CGPA × 10) − 7.5 (varies). Direct: Percentage = CGPA × 10. Many universities use their own custom multiplier — check your transcript or marks card for the official formula.
What is the CBSE CGPA to percentage formula?
CBSE uses Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. Example: CGPA 8.4 = 8.4 × 9.5 = 79.8%. This is mentioned in your CBSE Class X marks sheet and is the official conversion accepted by colleges, universities, and government job applications.
How do I calculate aggregate CGPA from SGPA?
Aggregate CGPA = Σ(SGPA × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits) across all semesters. For example, if Sem 1 SGPA is 8.5 with 24 credits and Sem 2 SGPA is 8.2 with 24 credits, your CGPA = (8.5×24 + 8.2×24) ÷ 48 = 8.35. Add a row for each semester in the SGPA tab.
What percentage is needed for government jobs?
Most government jobs require minimum 50–60% in Class XII or graduation. SSC CGL: graduation (any %). UPSC CSE: graduation degree (any %). Banking PO: 60% in graduation. SC/ST/OBC candidates usually get 5–10% relaxation. Always check the specific notification.
